I was born in Luxembourg, a small country in the middle of Europe, and raised in New Zealand, a big country in the middle of nowhere. In New Zealand, as the son of restaurateurs, I was constantly exposed to the shortest of the design-test cycles, a good meal. Between my love for nature and food, I came to believe in idea of design as a holistic, user-oriented process to develop meaningful products and services. I fell in love with form through nature, and the idea of mass-customization through Legos. In gorgeous Wellington, New Zealand, I was lucky enough to find that design was a legitimate subject of study. Since graduation then I have also completed a prostgraduate diploma in product development at Politecnic University in Barcelona and worked internationally as a product, interactive and interior designer in New Zealand, USA, London and Barcelona, for Krohn Design, Carpyen, BYD Yachts, Museum of New Zealand, McNeel Associates. I continue to cook, travel and play with Legos to this day. |
